The Weekend Reset: Where I Escape in Cebu

The Weekend Reset: Where I Escape in Cebu

By Friday night, I can feel it—tension in my shoulders, my mind running a marathon, my phone buzzing nonstop. The workweek takes a toll, and if I don’t step away, I know I’ll burn out. So, I make it a point to disconnect and recharge.

But not all resets look the same. Some weekends, I crave peace. Other times, I need adventure. Here’s how I decide:

When I Need a Quiet Escape

🛶 A Slow Morning by the Water – Instead of the usual crowded beaches, I’ve found tiny, hidden coastal spots where I can just sit, breathe, and let the waves do the talking.
📖 A Solo Date at a Book Café – No work emails, no small talk—just me, a strong cup of coffee, and whatever story pulls me in.
🎨 Pottery Therapy – There’s something grounding about shaping clay with my hands—a reminder that slowing down is okay.

When I Need an Energy Boost

🚗 Road Trips to the Highlands – A spontaneous drive to Busay or Balamban with good music and an open road always clears my head.
🏊 Swimming, But Make It Fun – Pool days with friends, trying paddleboarding, or just floating under the sun—because sometimes, doing nothing is the best reset.
🍣 Food Crawls in the City – Comfort food is self-care, right? I love exploring hole-in-the-wall restaurants that surprise me with flavors I never knew I needed.

The key to a good reset? Listening to what your mind and body need. Not every weekend has to be the same, and that’s okay.

How do you recharge after a long week? Drop your favorite reset ritual in the comments—I’d love to try something new!

Two weeks in **Rome, Italy** felt like a dream—**wandering through ancient streets, tasting authentic Italian pasta, and soaking in centuries of art and history.** But like all good things, the trip had to end. Now, it’s time for the long journey back home to **Cebu, Philippines**—a transition from the wonders of travel back to the rhythm of daily life. --- ### **The Long Trip Home** The return journey wasn’t just a flight—it was an **adventure of its own.** A long-haul flight, endless airport layovers, and a ferry ride to visit family in the province before heading back to Cebu. Travel days like this remind me that **coming home is just as much a part of the journey as leaving.** #### **Saying Goodbye to Rome** The final morning in Rome felt surreal. As I walked through the cobblestone streets one last time, I let my eyes soak in every detail—the golden glow of the morning sun on the buildings, the quiet hum of a city waking up.
